Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
The Safety Committee of the Homeowners Association has formed the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in cooperation with the City of San Jose’s emergency preparedness program called “San Jose Prepared!” For more information about these organizations go to:

San Jose Prepared!
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The Silver Creek Valley Country Club (SCVCC) CERT team is organizing emergency preparedness efforts throughout the SCVCC community. CERT is asking for volunteers from each neighborhood to help prepare their neighborhood for earthquakes and other potential emergencies.

Many of our 15 neighborhoods already have active Neighborhood CERT Teams consisting of 4-12 members who have developed a emergency plan for their neighborhood and have stocked emergency equipment and supplies in one or more Emergency Supply Cabinets in their neighborhood. The SCVCC Home Owner’s Association (HOA) will fund the expense for these supplies and cabinets in all neighborhoods who have an established Neighborhood CERT Team of at least 4 volunteers who have attended all 5 of the training classes held at the San Jose City’s emergency preparedness training classes through the San Jose Prepared! training program.

Emergency Supply Cabinet
There is no organized Neighborhood CERT Team formed in your neighborhood yet. However, there are 1-3 people in your neighborhood who have already been to the training classes, who have not yet joined together to form an organized team.

There must be a minimum of 4 trained people in order for a team to adequately function and for the HOA to fund an Emergency Supply Cabinet. If you are interested in taking the classes and participating in a group, please contact the SafetyCommittee@scvcchoa.com.

Landscape Committee Annual Budgeting

Neighborhood reviews are conducted annually by the Landscaping Committee in your neighborhood to determine what improvements should be requested for the next budgeting cycle. Your Landscaping Committee representatives submit their requests for additional trees, bushes, benches, or whatever other landscaping improvements are appropriate in early spring. Then the Landscaping Committee head combines the requests of all the neighborhoods and submits it to the HOA to see if there are sufficient fund that year for any portion of those requests. Depending on the overall HOA budget that year, the Landscaping Committee head then determines which requests in which neighborhoods, if any, will be budgeted for that year.

If you are have questions or input for your neighborhood Landscaping Committee representative, contact: LandscapeN1@scvcchoa.com.
